WEB TRAFFIC

During the month of October, we had an increase of 43% on our website. Congratulations, folks!

Sandeep would like to mention that now more than ever, you should remember to log (in time with the music, so listeners know what song is currently playing), keeping banners/descriptions up-to-date, adding new album reviews etc, etc…

You'll notice, if you read past this, that we haven't updated this page in ages. Believe me, we eventually will (though the last post promises the same...don't bug me, okay?)

Thanks for coming on board - we hope you enjoy volunteering for CFMU!

Hey everyone,

Now that the phone campaign is done, we're holding at approximately $13,500.

We had a successful campaign and a great show put on by the Casbah. Keep an eye open for another rock show in April as well as the Freewheeling Folk Benefit on April 21!

Cheers

SEMIANNUAL LOCATION!

Hi everyone

Our semiannual meeting is MONDAY FEBRUARY 12 @ 7 pm

In order to have the meeting in the same area (and not way across cammpus) we've chosen to hold it at

QUARTERS PUB

Many of you will know where this is. If you do not, we'll post a map. It's literally less than a minute's walk from the station. Follow me on this:

If you're at the station, head for the washrooms and the stairs that lead to the food court area. Instead of going up both flights of stairs, however, go up the first and through the doors into Togo Salmon Hall. Quarters is straight ahead on your right. There will be signs...

SEMIANNUAL MEETING!!!

Hi folks, we're still tryign to confirm a semiannual meeting but the date is confirmed

MONDAY FEBRUARY 12

We've been telling people the meeting is mandatory for some time now, but somehow it is the same 50 people who show up to every meeting. So here's how it will work this time.

We will post a sheet for those who CANNOT attend. If you did not sign the sheet but still miss the meeting, you could face suspension or dimissal.

Likewise, we will be passing around a sheet at the meeting where you will sign your name beside the SHOW that you do. If a show on that sheet has no name beside it, that show could face suspension or dismissal.

McMaster Closed

Yes indeed we're closed due to weather. Nevertheless, CFMU continues its broadcasting day. The doors to the student centre are likely open but if you have any trouble, head for the Security office that you may have found during the holidays.

Remember that your show is YOUR responsibility. Many of you who pre-record are in the habit of posting it and hoping it gets aired. Yes, I take responsibility for airing these shows when I'm around, but - again, since the show is ultimately your responsibility - I will NOT be coming in to do it if I'm off. So make sure and never assume you're covered, just in case!

VOLUNTEER FEES

Volunteer fees are now past due. Every year we claim we will take disciplinary action against those who do not pay, and we generally fail to do so - but this year, don't be too surprised if you find yourself getting a phone call.

By the way, some really simple math - missing our semiannual meetings and not paying fees equals a Level 2 warning. That puts a person perilously close to losing their show! So please do us a favour and get in touch if you need to pay up. Thanks!

ATTENTION STUDENTS - NEED A JOB NEXT YEAR?

CFMU is already thinking about hiring for next year's Sept-April period. As it stands (and this is subject to change) we will be hiring for Sports Director, Spoke Word Coordinator, Production Coordinator, Promotions Director and, depending on Olga's plans, Music Director. So keep it in mind, and get in touch if you want to know more.

You must be a Mac student taking at least 18 units next year.

Thanks!

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE MEETING!!!

I wanted to send out a mass email to remind everyone about the meeting tomorrow at 5:30...hopefully the MSU server will right itself and I'll be able to do that. In the meantime, if anyone happens to check in here...

5:30 Wednesday Jan 10!

Probably a short meeting, we're going to stuff some envelopes and plan for the March fundie. Please join us if you can. We'll at least have some pizza available...

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hope you all had a great holiday. We didn't have TOO many major problems with the keys this year, thanks to Lori Diamond who runs the MUSC.

Remember that we've got a semiannual meeting in February, and fundraising begins very, very soon. If you haven't picked up your package, PLEASE DO SO VERY SOON!

Cheers
